ROUND ROCK (Community Impact Newspaper) – Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company is relocating its Texas regional office to Round Rock after the city council approved an incentive package June 11.
According to city documents, the Boston-based company will bring 270 jobs with an average salary of more than $70,000. The company also agrees to lease a majority of a 100,000-sf, Class-A office building developed by Live Oak-Gottesman in the La Frontera office development.
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will also invest $3 million in facility improvements and personal property in exchange for $350,000 in economic incentive payments over four years from the city. The company will also receive an abatement of personal property located within the facility tiered over three years.
Live Oak-Gottesman will receive a tax abatement spread out over ten years for leasing space to the publisher.
